Pam Boland is a Chartered Management Consultant and senior transformation leader, writing for new and early-career consultants on the craft, the relationships, and the personal practice that sustains a consulting career.

Most consultants are winging it or fed up, or both.

They don't have to be either.

The book.

Consulting Cracked

New consultants are expected to be self-sufficient from day one, but in an era of hybrid working, learning by observing more senior colleagues is rarer and more precious than ever. You can't read every book. You can't do every course. And the feeling that everyone but you has it all figured out can take years to subside.

Consulting Cracked is your mentor-style guide – short, self-contained lessons designed as a year of weekly mentoring sessions. Drawn from a career of project work, observations from coaching consultants, and the conversations the consultants are quietly having about the parts of the job nobody warns them about.

In four sections:

·      The Basics: what everyone needs to be clear on before they start

·      The Fundamentals: the everyday craft of consulting and change

·      The Human Factors: the people side that makes or breaks projects

·      The New Essentials: the topics other consulting books don't cover - hybrid working, behavioural science, wellbeing, bias, vulnerability, and how to build a career worth staying in

Honest, practical, and warm - for new consultants, experienced consultants, business leaders, and those in adjacent roles in transformation, change, and project management.

Coaching, Mentoring & Community

  • I have been coaching people throughout my career as a Management Consultant and Senior Transformation Leader.

Helping people think more clearly, work more effectively, and show up as the best version of themselves has always been part of how I work.

I am now a Paseda360 Advanced Practitioner in Transformational Coaching, and I am currently looking for a small number of volunteers to experience the Paseda360 Stop Being Stuck protocol.

This is a structured, evidence-based approach that creates real, lasting change — not surface-level advice, but work that goes to the root of what's holding you back.

If you're curious, get in touch — I'd love to hear from you.

  • I am passionate about helping others succeed — and I mean that in the most practical sense. Not cheerleading from the sidelines, but honest, committed, roll-your-sleeves-up support.

At any given time, I work with a small number of individuals on a mentoring basis. I am selective about this because I take it seriously. If I'm your mentor, you have my full attention and genuine investment in where you're going.

If you'd like to explore whether we'd be a good fit, get in touch and let's have a conversation.

  • I am based in rural Northern Ireland and regularly travel across the UK and Ireland for work, speaking engagements, and events.

I am always open to supporting relevant community and networking initiatives — whether that's attending, speaking, facilitating, or simply being in the room and making connections happen.

If you're running something you think I'd be a good fit for, I'd love to hear about it. Reach out, and let's explore it.
